Moved By Her Story

Words cannot describe my pampering event experience at the children’s museum! So many stories are still racing through my mind…too much to put into words…overload…in an awesome way!! If you were there, I hope that your experience was valuable as well. MOVE’s leadership Team would like to sincerely thank all of our volunteers! One thing I know for sure…God was in the house on Friday night!! And we weren’t even in a church building! Go figure…JP
When I arrived at the Children’s Museum on Friday night, I really didn’t know what was expected of me. I thought I was going to play with children, but I soon learned that I was needed to paint fingernails. Something I can’t do very well at all, but with God’s help I survived. I felt sorry for my first customer - it took me twice as long as everyone else. By this time I felt very inadaquate about being there.
Then a lady named Lisa set down in front of me. It became very obvious she was there to witness to me rather than me witness to her. The first thing she ask me to do was pray with her. We did and you could feel God there with us. After our prayer, Lisa preceded to tell me her story about how she is a recovering drug addict and alcoholic. She has been in a rehab program for nine months and will graduate on the 23rd of this month. For the next 10 minutes, she praised God for everything that He has done in her life. I can’t begin to tell you how moved I was by her story. Her next goal is to win back the trust of her 15 year old son who lives with his grandmother. She knows the only way this is possible is through God and she is willing to wait for God’s timing. What a blessing Lisa was to me.
Lisa knows how to let God shine through her smile and her testimony. I pray that she continues to feel this love of God that she has in her heart. Lisa is a wonderful example for me to follow.
